ダンシング・クイーン / Dancing Queen

教会に入ってからの私はいろんなことに挑戦しました。
そのひとつが社交ダンスです。
日本の教会では独身成人の活動で
ダンス・パーティーが頻繁に行われました。
初めはとても難しそうで人が踊るのをただ見ているだけでした。
でも誘われて踊るようになりましたが
パートナーにただ振り回されてるだけでした。
そのうち上手になりたいと言う欲が沸いてきました。
近くステークで（教会の中で小さく区切ってそれぞれの地区をワードと言う。
ワードをいくつか集めた大きな地区をステークと呼ぶ）
ダンス・コンテストがあることを聞き参加する事にしました。
教師をある姉妹にお願いして パートナーは修二兄弟。
修二兄弟の提案で曲はビージーズの"How Deep is Your Love"
キュウバン・ルンバを踊る事にしました。
毎日仕事の後、教会に集まり一生懸命練習しました。
今では何組出場したか覚えていませんが
私たちはステークのチャンピンになりました。

After I became a member of the church,
I started to learn so many things.
The social dance was one of them.
We often had dance party as Single Adult Program in church.
I was just watching other people dancing,
because I thought it was so hard to dance.
Then people started to invite me to dance with them,
still I was just trying to copy people's dance.
But I got a desire that I wanted to be a good dancer, too.
One day, they announced that our Fukuoka Stake was having a dance competition.
I wanted to participate in that competition.
So I asked one sister to teach me how to dance,
and asked Shuji to be my partner.
Shuji picked a song called "How Deep is Your Love" by Bee Gee's.
We decided to do performance with Cuban Rumba.
We practiced everyday at the church after our jobs..
I don't remember how many teams participated that competition,
but we won a Stake Championship.
