恵が「ばあちゃんと曾ばあちゃんに
私の花嫁姿を見せたいけど
それってどれくらいの費用がかかる？」と
聞いてきました。
検討もつかない私はすぐ母に電話しました。
「こっちの費用は私が出すから心配せんでいいよ。
日本に来る費用だけそっちで出して」と言ってくれました。
５月には賢と恵２人の結婚があり
恵はカリフォルニアとアリゾナで披露宴をすることになっていて
さらに６人分の日本への航空券を買うとなると
大変な出費です。
素直に母の言葉に甘えました。
５月２９日の恵たちの結婚式の後
５月３１日にはロスの空港から日本に向かいました。
６月１日に北九州に着き
６月６日に若松の玄界灘の見える宿を借りて
親戚だけ集めての披露宴をしました。
母は大分の佐伯に住んでいて
身動きが取れなかったので
若松に住む伯母が３人
あちらこちら回って
「かんぽの宿」を借りてくれました。
私たち３組の夫婦と両親は
その夜そこに泊まりました。
美容師さんも伯母の一人の
行きつけのお店の先生が引き受けてくれ
かなり安い値段で貸衣装、鬘、お化粧をしてくれました。
恵が花嫁衣裳を着たい・・・から始まったのですが
賢とジェフも羽織袴で
（この２人の貸衣装代は恵の金額にタダでつけてくれた）
マディーの花嫁衣裳までは出せなかったので
私の従姉妹が高価な 振袖を持っているので
それを借りることになりました。
１枚目は恵が色内掛けを着せてもらってるところ。
２枚目はマディーが振袖を着せてもらってるところ。
３枚目は着付けが完成した賢とマディー。
４枚目は色内掛けの恵とジェフ。
５枚目は綿帽子の恵。
６枚目は座敷で賢とマディー。
７枚目は角隠しの恵とジェフ。
８枚目は玄界灘をバックに４人で。
９枚目は同じく外で。
１０枚目も同じく外で。
１１枚目は総勢２７人で記念写真。
１２枚目は披露宴で。
After Kay and Jeff got engaged on April 4th,
Kay asked me " do you know how much it will cost
if I wear Japanese bridal Kimono
to show Grandma and great grandma?"
I had no idea, so I called my mother in Japan.
She said, "don't worry about the money for the reception here.
Just pay the expense for the trip to come here."
We were having two weddings in a month,
and having two receptions for Kay, one in California, another in Arizona.
Also we had to pay for the airline tickets for 6 people.
So we decided to let my mother pay for the whole reception
including their Kimono rental.
Kay and Jeff got married on May 29th,
then we all left for Japan from LAX on May 31st.
We got to Kitakyushu on June 1st.
We had a special reception, just invited my relatives
at the hotel near Genkainada Sea on June 6th.
My mother is living in Saiki, Oita far away from Kitakyushu.
So her three sisters who live in Kitakyushu took care of everything.
They made the reservation for the reception
and the nights for 3 couples and my parents to stay.
They even hired the beautician who can dress Kimono and special make over.
They also own the Kimono rental store.
We got a great deal with the whole thing,
because one of my aunts is a good customer there.
They let us rent Ken and Jeff's Kimono for free
with Kay's Bridal rent.
We couldn't ask my mother to pay for Maddie's bridal Kimono.
My cousin has an expensive Kimono,
so we asked her to let Maddie wear it.
The first picture was when Kay was wearing Irouchikake Kimono.
The second picture was when Maddie was wearing Furisode Kimono.
The third picture was when Ken and Maddie finished make over.
The fourth picture was when Kay and Jeff finished make over.
The fifth picture was when Kay was wearing Wataboshi hat.
The sixth picture was at Tatami floor room.
The seventh picture was also Tatami room.
The eighth picture was taken outside, backed by the Genkainada Sea.
The ninth picture was outside, too.
The tenth picture was outside, too.
The eleventh picture was with my relatives.
27 people got together to celebrate
for these 2 couples' wedding.
The twelfth picture was at the reception.
