賢の仲良しヒロ君 / Ken's Friend Hiro

グレンデール、ピオリアに住んでいる頃には
沢山の日本人のお友達がいました。
ほとんどは駐在員の奥様でした。
たいていは３～４年の任期で
日本に帰られました。
その中で私がとても仲良くさせて
いただいたのがみちよさんでした。
カリフォルニアに１８ヶ月勤務で
フィニックスに１８ヶ月だったので
とても短いおつき合いでしたが
本当に仲良しになりました。

賢より１歳年上の息子さんがいらして
賢は初めて日本人の仲良しができました。

１枚目はいつものメキシカンレストラン「マカヨ」で。

２枚目は ヒロ君の家を「ハート・アタック」した夜。
「ハート・アタック」とはハートの形に切り取った紙を
沢山誰かの庭に飾って愛情、友情を示す事。

３枚目も同じ夜。
私の親友ウエンディーの双子の息子ブレットとボー、
恵の友達ナタリーとアシュリー、
そしてヒロ君も可愛がってもらった
高校の生物学の先生ミスター・スペンサー。
私が学校で奉仕をしていたので
彼と親しくなりその夜夕食に招待したのです。
ヒロ君のお母さんとお姉さんのナツキさんも一緒に。

４枚目は我が家でヒロ君の誕生パーティーをした日。

５枚目はヒロ君が誕生プレゼントを開けてるところ。

 ６枚目は同じく誕生パーティーで。

７枚目は教会のユースのプログラム

ヒロ君は教会員ではありませんが
賢と一緒に参加しました。

８枚目もefyで。

９枚目はefyで知り合った女の子と
メサでダブル・デートでした。

１０枚目はヒロ君の家族のアメリカで最後の夜。
ご家族に招待をいただいて
PF Chang　でディナーをご馳走になりました。

When we lived in Glendale or Peoria,
I had a lot of Japanese friends.
Most of them came here because of their husband's work.
They usually stayed here 3 or 4 years and went home in Japan.
One of those ladies, I became so close.
Her name is Michiyo.
They lived in Torrance, California for 18 months.
And then, they came to Glendale for 18 months.
So it was so short for us to be together,
but we really got close.

She has a son who is just 1 year older than Ken.
So Ken became a good friend with him.
His name is Hiro.

The first picture was when we took  him "Macayo's",
our favorite Mexican restaurant.

The second picture was when we did "Heart Attack" to Hiro's home.

The third picture was also the night of "Heart Attack".
My best friend Wendy's twin boys, Bret and Beau.
Kay's friends Natalie and Ashley.
Also we had Mr. Spencer from Mountain Ridge High School.
He was a biology teacher who was so nice to Hiro.
I helped at school a lot, so I became friend with him,
and I invited him for the dinner that night.
Hiro's mother and sister, Natsuki were there, too.

The fourth picture was at my home.
We had Hiro's birthday party.

The fifth picture was at Hiro's birthday party.
He was openning his presents.

The sixth picture was the end of his birthday party.

The seventh picture was at efy (Especially for Youth).
The efy is the special program for youth in our church.

Hiro was not a member of our church,
but he really wanted to go there with Ken.
So we took two boys there.

The eighth picture was at efy, too.

The ninth picture was in Mesa.
Ken and Hiro met these girls at efy.
So they went on double dates.

The tenth picture was at PF Chang's restaurant.
It was the last night in America for Hiro's family.
Hiro's father's work here finished and they went home.
His parents invited us for the dinner together.
