ハネムーン / Honeymoon

１９８５年１２月１４日、
私は両親と一緒に博多を出発して伊丹空港へ
さらにソウル・ロスを経由してフィニックスに来ました。
１７日が神殿がその年に開いてる最後の日で
火曜日で来てくれる方たちには大変な迷惑でしたが
何とか結婚できました。
両親は教会員でないので
訪問者センターで司式が終わるのを待たないといけませんでした。
でも私が教会に入ったときからそれを覚悟してくれていたので
私がとてもよい人と結婚できた事のほうを喜んでくれました。

１８日私たちは４人で（私の両親と）
デイブの運転する車でカリフォルニアへ向かいました。
２５年前私たちは父兄同伴のハネムーンに行ったのです。
 この５月に息子と娘は結婚して
６人で日本に行きました。
つまり息子も娘も私たちと同じように
父兄同伴のハネムーンに行ったのです。

翌日はディズニー ランドに行って遊びました。
そして次の日はロスの空港に両親を送っていきました。
私はアメリカに残り両親は２人だけで日本へ。
その夜私たちはサンディエゴに向かい
そこで二人だけのハネムーンをするはずでした。
ところがデイブは南に走るべきところを北に走り
迷子になって真夜中に見つけたホテルに泊まり
翌朝疲れた二人は家に帰る事にしました。
両親と別れて寂しかった私には
ハネムーンはもうどうでもよかったのです。

ひどい話ですが
何故かハネムーンの写真が１枚もありません。


My parents and I were on the plane,
from Fukuoka to Osaka, then Osaka to Seoul,
Seoul to LA, then LA to Phoenix on December 14th, 1985.
December 17th was Tuesday, but it was a last day of the year that temple was open.
We knew it was hard for the guests to come to our ceremony,
but we had no choice.
My parents are not members of the church,
so they had to wait for us to finish the ceremony at the visitor center.
But they knew that it would happen like that since I got baptized.
They were so happy that I could be married to a good man.

We left for California for our honeymoon with my parents on the18th.
We are having our 25th anniversary this year.

By the way our son and daughter got married in May,
and six of us went to Japan together.
So it seems like it is a tradition for our family to go to honeymoon with parents.

The next day, we went to Disneyland and had a great time together, the four of us.
Then we had to take my parents to LAX the next night at 10 pm.
I stayed here and my parents had to go home without me.
We were planning to go to San Diego right after we dropped my parents off at LAX.
But Dave drove up North instead of South.
We got lost in the middle of the night.
So we decided to stay at a hotel that we found in the dark night.
The next morning, we were so tired and I was so sad to say good bye to my parents.
We decided to go home.

It's sad, but we don't have any pictures from our honeymoon.
