帰省 2001年 / The Trip to Japan 2001

Dave decided to stay home, and I took Ken and Kay to Japan all by myself in 2001.
It was the first time to go back to Japan without Dave, so I was a little bit nervous.
But Ken and Kay were big enough to carry a lot of luggage.

We stayed there for 2 months.
The children who were in the class
when Ken and Kay went to school 5th and 6th grade
became 7th graders, and were going to Genyo Junior High School.
So we asked the principal there, and they let my children go there for 10 days.
Ken and Kay had a great time again.
They even joined the after school sports activity, too.
They ran with the track team.

The first picture was at LAX.
Did we look nervous without Dave?

The second picture was at my grandmother's home in Wakamatsu.
My aunt and uncle from Moji came to visit us.

The third picture was at my brother's home in Wakamatsu.
Their cousins Tomomi and Mitsutaka were having fun with Ken and Kay.

The fourth picture was at community center in Saiki.
We visited Mr. Mikajiri who was a principal there 2 years ago.

The fifth picture was at my mother's kitchen.
My parents took us fishing, and we caught a lot of fish.
Ken wanted to clean them by himself.

The sixth picture was at a hot spring in Beppu.
My parents always take us there.
Because we love hot springs.

The seventh picture was at Genyo Junior High School's principal's office.
They just had PE class, so Ken's shirt was wet.

The eighth picture was at the front of class room with Mr. Kanda.
He was class room teacher for Ken and Kay.

The ninth picture was with Genyo Junior High School Track Team.
There is a funny kid on every team.

The tenth picture was at the restaurant where they teach the customers
how to make noodles.
Mrs. Matsushita who was class room teacher 2 years before, took us there.
Her girls and Ken and Kay made yummy noodles.

The eleventh picture was at the restaurant
where my aunt and uncle held a farewell party
for us the night before we left Saiki.

The twelfth picture was at my sister's home.
We had a dinner party the night before we left Japan.
It was also my mother's birthday celebration.
She was cutting her birthday cake.
