Sage Class という成績優秀な生徒を集めて
数学と英語の高いレベルの授業をするクラスに入りました。
２年生の終わりにそのクラスに入りたい生徒をテストして
合格した生徒は３年生から６年生まで
そのクラスに入ることができます。
そのおかげで２人の英語のレベルは向上しました。
私が自宅で数学を教え続けましたが
英語は苦手で教えることができなかったけど
小さい頃から本を読み続けてたおかげで
Sage Class に入るためのテストに合格しました。
この時期賢はテコンドー、ピアノ、スカウトをし
恵はダンス、ピアノ、アチーブメントデイをやっていて
（（教会のプログラムで８歳から１１歳の
女の子のための活動。男の子のスカウトに相当する）
本当に忙しい毎日でした。
１枚目は賢の６年生の担任と親友ランスと一緒に。
正式な卒業式などはなく、
生徒の業績をたたえる表彰式だけでした。
２枚目は恵のダンスリサイタルで。
３枚目は恵が６年生の時に地区のスペリング・ビーの
チャンピョンになった時のもの。
（スペリング・ビーとは 綴り方のコンテストで
４年生から８年生までが出る資格のあるもの）
州の大会に出ましたが８位に終わりました。
翌年は地区で２位でまた州大会に出ましたが
やはり８位で終わりました。）
４枚目は私のお友達みさよさんが
お食事に招待してくださった時のもの。
左端が賢と恵を孫のように可愛がって下さったとよこさん。
ご主人の健康のためカリフォルニアに引っ越していかれました。
私は右から２番目。
５枚目は賢の初めてのダンス・パーティーで。
教会ではユースのために毎週土曜日に
ダンス・パーティーを催しています。
でもそれは特別なパスを持ってる
１４歳から１８歳までの子のためです。
年に１回Back to School Dance といって
新学期が始まってすぐに開かれるパーティーがあり
それは１２歳から１８歳まで誰でも行けます。
この写真は賢が１２歳でそのパーティーに行った時のものです。
６枚目は恵と校長先生。
６年生の終わりの集会の後に。
７枚目は恵と６年生の時の担任の先生と。
８枚目は３年生から６年生までの４年間
お世話になったSage Class のMrs. Roth と。
賢も同じようにとても可愛がっていただきました。
９枚目と１０枚目は
その年ハーロウインが日曜日にあり
Trick or Treat にいけなかったので
友達２０人ほど我が家に集めて
ピッツァ・パーティーをしました。
１人１人に小さなプレゼントを持って来てもらい
プレゼントの交換をしました。
コスチュームを着てる子も着てない子もいました。
Ken and Kay's elementary school had Sage Class,
which is the class for the gifted children.
They teach higher level Math and Reading class.
At the end of the second grade,
they test the students who wants to be in Sage Class.
If the studentｓ pass the test,
they can be in that class from 3rd grade to 6th grade.
Ken and Kay both were in Sage Class.
I taught my children Math at home, but I couldn't teach them English.
So Sage Class helped my children a lot in English.
During these years, Ken was doing Tae-Kwon-Do, Piano, and Boy Scouts.
And Kay did Dance, Piano, and Achievement Day activity.
(Achievement Day activity is now called Activity Day.
It is the church prgram for the girls age 8 to 11.
The scouting program is for boys, and Activity Day is for girls in our church.)
So our lives were really busy.
The first picture was when Ken finished 6th grade.
With his class room teacher and his best friend, Lance.
The second picture was at Kay's Dance Recital.
The third picture was at Deer Valley District office.
Kay was the district Spelling Bee Champion when she was 6th grade.
She went to the State competition, but she finished 8th.
Actually she was 1st round from the district following year,
and she went to the state competition, but she was 8th again.
That's the end of her Spelling Bee carrer.
The fourth picture was at my friend Misayo's home.
She invited us for the fancy lunch.
The lady in left is Toyoko-san ,
who treated my children as her own grandchildren.
I was second from right.
The fifth picture was when Ken went to Youth Dance first time.
Our church has a great youth program.
Every Saturday night, they have a youth dance party.
The youth from 14 to 18 years old, who has a special pass can go to the party.
Also they have "Back to School" Dance beginning of the school year.
the youth from 12 to 18 years old can go to this party.
Ken was 12 years old, and went to "Back to School" dance.
The sixth picture was when Kay finished 6th grade
with her principal Mr. Clawson.
The seventh piture was the end of her 6th grade
with her class room teacher Mrs. Stewart.
The eighth picture was the end of her 6th grade
with her Sage Class teacher Mrs. Roth.
Mrs. Roth was so nice to Ken and Kay both for 4 years.
The ninth and tenth pictures were at the time
when we had a Halloween Party.
That year, the Halloween was on Sunday.
So we decided to have a Pizza party
with about 20 children at our home.
So children were happy even though they didn't go to "trick or treat".
We asked each child to bring a small present for exchange.
Some were wearing costume and some were not.
