四軒目の家 「ライオン・ハウス」 ２００２年２月 － ２００７年７月/ Our Fourth Hhome "Lion House"

近所で開発が始まった住宅会社のモデルハウスが
まだ建たないうちに私はフロアープランを見ただけで
恋に落ちてしまった家がありました。
２００１年夏、私が子供を２人連れて帰省中に
デイブは一人でその家の契約をして
いつも使う不動産屋さんに頼んで
３軒目の家を売りに出しました。
なんと１ヶ月で売れてしまいました。
そして帰国後１週間で引越しでした。
しかもその日は私の誕生日。

６ヶ月借家に住み４軒目の家の完成を待ちました。
その間ダンボールに１００個以上の荷物を入れたまま
必要なものがあれば箱を開けて探し、
見つからなければ 持っているのをわかっていながら
買うという生活をしました。

この家は２００２年２月に完成しました。
２分の１エーカーの大きな土地に
３７５０平方フィートの大きな家でした。

１枚目はちょくちょく経過を見に行っていた頃。

２枚目は完成した頃。

３枚目は引っ越してすぐ。
ライオンの噴水を前庭に置き
「ライオン・ハウス」と名づけました。

４枚目は私のキッチン。
沢山のお客さんのおもてなしをしたところ。

５枚目はマスター・ベッドルーム。

６枚目はマスター・バスルーム。
手前がシャワーで向こうはクロゼット。

７枚目はライブラリー。
はじめはそこの３つの本棚を置いてましたが
家を売るときに本は箱に詰めて
本棚は売ってしまいました。
ピアノを置いてすっきり見えるようにしました。
家を売るのは本当に大変な事です。

８枚目は裏庭。
土曜日は親子４人で４～５時間かけて
庭仕事をやっていました。
オレンジ、グレープフルーツ、プラム、
ピーチ、ネクタリン、アプリコットの木がありました。

９枚目は前庭。

１０枚目は私が恋に落ちたフロアープラン。

There was an awesome floor plan that I fell in love with,

when the new house builder developed the community in our neighborhood.

They even didn't finish the model houses, 

but I could figure out how nice it was by just looking at the floor plan  sheet.

During the summer of 2001, I took my children to Japan without Dave.

While I was in Japan , Dave hired the realtor who always helped us to sell our homes.

Dave signed the paper to buy the new home that I loved so much, 

and started to sell our 3rd home without me.

Actually he sold it in a month.

A week after I came home from Japan, we had to move out.

It was my birthday.

We lived in a rental house for 6 months.

We lived with over 100 boxes in the living room.

When we needed something, we had to open some boxes to find it.

If we couldn't find it, we had to buy it, even though we knew we had it.

Our fourth home was finished in February 2002.

It was on a half acre and 3750 square feet home.

We really enjoyed living in that home.

The first picture was when we often checked the progress on the home.

The second picture was when they finished the home.

The third picture was right after we moved in.

We put the fountain with lions heads in our front yard.

That's why we named the house "Lion House".

The fourth picture was when I was cooking Tempura in my kitchen.

I cooked for the guests a lot there.

The fifth picture was our master bedroom.

The sixth picture was our master bathroom.

The seventh picture was our library.

We first put three bookcases there with a whole bunch of books.

When we tried to sell this house,

we put all books in boxes, and sold the bookcases.

To sell the house, we have to make house look nicer.

So we put piano there, and make it look simple but sophisticated.

The eighth picture was our huge backyard.

We had an orange tree, grapefruit tree, plum tree,

peach tree, nectarine tree and apricot tree.

The ninth picture was our front yard.

The tenth picture was the floor plan that I fell in love with.
