私の両親は５週間の滞在予定で
アメリカにやって来ました。
５月に娘の恵がアリゾナ州立大学院法学部を
卒業するので式に出席するためでした。
また息子の賢夫婦と娘の恵夫婦が
家を新築したのでそれを見るために
さらに昨年なくなった義母のバーバラと
６年前に亡くなった義父のブライスの
お墓参りのためにやって来ました。
私は両親を迎えにサンフランシスコ空港に行きました。
初めの２週間はのんびりと過ごして
恵の卒業式の後
１週間のクルーズに主人と両親と４人で出かけました。
最後の２週間は日本の持ち帰るお土産の
買い物で大忙しでした。
１枚目はサンフランシスコ空港で
JALの係りの人に助けられて出てきた両親。
２枚目は恵とジェフの家の訪問。
３枚目は賢とマディーの家の訪問。
４枚目は私の好きなデパート、ディラーズで
友達ゲイルと４人でショッピングしたとき。
５枚目は恵の卒業式。
６枚目は家族全員でお墓参りしたとき。
７枚目はクルーズに乗り込んだときの記念写真。
８枚目はサンフランシスコ、フィッシャーマンズ・ワーフで。
９枚目はサンフランシスコのケーブルカーで。
１０枚目はビクトリアのフェアーモント・エンプレス・ホテルの前で。
１１枚目はクルーズで最後の夜に。
１２枚目はクルーズを降りてバンクーバーのグランビル・アイランドで。
１３枚目はウエスタンの街ローハイドで。
１４枚目は両親の帰国する朝の
メモリアルデーで国旗が飾られました。
１５枚目は賢たちとさようなら。
１６枚目はスカイハーバー空港で恵たちとさよなら。
私は両親と一緒にサンフランシスコまで行きました。
My parents came to visit
us from Japan on April 23rd,
and stayed with us for 5 weeks.
They had three reasons to come here.
My daughter Kay graduated ASU Law School in May.
My son Ken and daughter Kay and their spouses built new homes,
so they wanted to see their grandchildren's homes.
My mother-in-law Barbara passed away last year,
and my father-in-law Bryce passed away 6 years ago,
so they wanted to visit their grave.
I flew to San Francisco to pick them up at the airport.
The first 2 weeks , they enjoyed being in HOT Arizona.
Then we attended Kay's graduation at ASU.
Dave and I took my parents on a 6 day cruise
from LA to San Francisco, Victoria and Vancouver.
The last 2 weeks, they enjoyed shopping for souvenir to take to Japan.
The first picture was at San Francisco International Airport.
Japan Airlines ground crew helped my parents to go through customs,
and brought them to the place I was waiting for them.
The second picture was when they visited Kay and Jeff's home first time.
The third picture was when they visited Ken and Maddie's home first time.
The fourth picture was at my favorite store Dillard's with my best friend Gayle.
The fifth picture was at ASU.
They're so pround of their grand daughter Kay
who worked so hard to achieve the law degree.
The sixth picture was at Dave's parents' grave.
The seventh picture was at the pier of LA,
right before we got on the ship for the cruise.
The eighth picture was at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.
The ninth picture was on the cable car in San Francisco.
The tenth picture was at the front of Fairmont Empress Hotel inVictoria.
The eleventh picture was at Granville Island in Vancouver.
We got off the ship and stayed one more night at the hotel there.
The twelfth picture was at Rawhide in Chandler.
We had the farewell party for my parents there.
The thireenth picture was at the front of my home.
They left for Japan in the morning of Memorial Day.
It seemed like the America said good bye to my parents.
The fourteenth picture was when Ken and Maddie came to say goodbye to them.
The fifteenth picture was at Sky Harbor Airport.
Kay and Jeff came to the airport with us to say good bye to them.
I flew to San Francisco with them.
