My husband and I went to Japan to visit my family and friends in October 2013.
I had wanted to go there in spring to see Cherry Blossoms,
but my husband couldn't take any vacation in spring.
So we decided to go there in May or June.
Then my sister told me that her second son was going to be married in November.
We changed our plan and left here in October and stayed there for 3 weeks.
On October 16th, we left from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and went to Haneda through San Francisco.
When we got to Haneda, it was already late night, so we stayed at a hotel near the airport.
Next day, we met some of my friends in Tokyo Temple,
then they took us to a fancy Japanese style restaurant in Akasaka.
The night of October 18th, my sister came to pick us up at Kitakyushu Airport.
Next day, we had a fun shopping trip with my sister.
On Sunday, October 20th, we went to visit Kitakyushu ward in Kokura.
That's the ward I used to attend as LDS member while I was living there.
After the church meeting, we went to my grandmother's home in Wakamatsu.
She is 98 years old and is senile, but her health is still great.
Sometimes she couldn't remember the people's faces.
When we saw her, she said to me,
"oh, it's you, Seiko. Why didn't you come visit sooner. I was dying."
After we stayed at my grandmother's home for 4 nights,
we went to Saiki where my parents live.
We stayed there for 4 nights, and we took them to Miyazaki for sight seeing.
After we came home from a 1 night trip to Miyazaki,
we stayed 4 more nights at my parents home.
We left for Kitakyushu with my parents,
because we had a wedding to attend.
After the wedding, we went to my grandmothers's home for 2 more nights.
Then we stayed 1 night at my sister's home and then returned to our home.
The first picture is on the plane, JAL flight 1.
The second picture is at the front of Tokyo Temple.
We met Sister Nobuko, and my missionary, Sister Fumika,
and Brother and Sister Marutani who were working in the temple at
their temple worker's apartment.
The third picture is at the fancy Japanese style restaurant in Akasaka.
Sister Nobuko, Sister Fumika and us met Sister Masako there.
They treated us to the gorgeous lunch there.
The food was amazing, of course the price was amazing, too.
The fourth picture is on the ferry, Wakato-tosen, with Wakato-ohashi in the background.
The fifth picture is at the supermarket.
We had a lunch with my aunt Keiko, and my good friend Midori.
Then while we were shopping, we met my cousin Sanae and her daughter Haruka.
The sixth picture is at the "Okonomiyaki' restaurant with my grandmother and aunt Keiko.
The seventh picture is at Usuki.
My aunt Fumika and her husband took us there to see a whole bunch of Buddhas carved
into the stone cliffs.
The eighth picture is at the front of "Oni no sentakuita "
which means Devil's washboard in Aoshima, Miyazaki.
The ninth picture is at the Aoshima shrine.
The tenth picture is at Saiki Train Station.
We had to say "good bye" to aunt Fumika and Uncle Isamu there.
The eleventh picture is at the wedding.
The twelfth picture is Groom Tatsuhiro and Bride Yukiko.
The thirteenth picture is Tatsuhiro and his brother Kosuke.
The fourteenth picture is at my sister's home.
We had a pizza party the night before we left.
The fifteenth picture is at Kitakyushu Airport.
My mother was sick and couldn't come to see us off.
